The Flevoland landscape gives immediatly associations with a feeling of freedom and space. Also the'scale' is an indefined player in this game. The paintings are seen in birds eye view, and inspired bij google earth. Also there are very small ink- drawing figures which tell my story about those places. Therefore I call this series 'Autobigraphic landcapes'.

The works of Gonny Geurts move between two poles; the autonomic move of the painting process, based on a poem, a thougt, literature or a philosophic concept. And the other side, the consequence of communicating about the theme and how to communicate it by the foms created on the painting. The visitor himself has to do the same; make his own fantasies and interpretations

Most of the Land-art projects are temporarely and themattical started. The inspiration comes from the spot itself. By walking in an area thoughts and fantasies come up. What I see, hear, feel and smell can be assimilated in the work of art.
